The valley in which Mai Chau sits is dotted with many Thai villages in between a patchwork of rice fields. It is a different world full of tranquility and breathtaking nature, perfect for cycling. Take in all the splendor of the scenic mountain views set against the seasonal lush green rice paddies in the valley below. Dine on a delicious Vietnamese lunch in a local village, followed by an exciting bike ride through the Mai Chau valley. On the way we’ll see local people farming in the traditional ways and meet locals weaving scarves in the most beautiful designs and colours.

7.30 – 8.00: Pickup at your hotel in the Old Quarter in our comfortable van.

10.00: Short break on the way.

11.30 – 12.00: Scenic photo stop of Mai Chau valley/arrive in Mai Chau

12.15: Traditional lunch in local village (vegetarian available)

13.00 – 15.00: Bicycle ride with local tour guide, see farmers working in fields,   locals weaving scarves and visit surrounding peaceful villages.

15.00: Leave Mai Chau and drive back to Hanoi.

18.30 – 19.00: Drop you off at your hotel, end of service.

Useful information

Especially for the north and central Vietnam;

In the period between November and April, the weather is variable, from sunny to cold and rainy. It is advisable during this period to bring some rain gear with some warmer clothes. In the period from April to November, it is good to pack a hat with a wide brim, sunscreen (at least SPF15) and a reliable insect repellent. A thin rain poncho is useful all year round.

What do I need to know? 

During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a
towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect
repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries. Warm clothing for the cooler
months of November to March are advised. How much luggage can I take? Your
vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15kgs in
a backpack or soft over-night bag and include a small day pack to hand carry for
easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc. Inhibitions can be left in the
luggage storage rooms at your hotel with your other unwanted baggage.
