Lan Ha Bay Day Cruise & Cat Ba National Park (start and end in Cat Ba Town)
$39.00
South of Halong Bay and next to Cat Ba National Park is Lan Ha Bay with over 300-or-so karst islands and limestone mountains. Lan Ha Bay is just as beautiful as those of its neighbor, but feel more isolated and untouched. The big bonus of Lan Ha is also the numerous white-sand beaches, which you won’t find at Halong Bay. Geologically, Lan Ha Bay is an extension of Halong Bay but sits in a different province. The waters here carry lots prawns and crabs which makes it great fishing grounds for local people.
07:45 – Pick up from hotels (only Cat Ba town).
08:15 – Check-in the cruise, enjoy welcome drinks and friendly smiles from our crew. The tour guide then provides key information about the cruise, itineraries, and other notes. Our captain steers the cruise slowly, and the poetic scenery of Cai Beo ancient fishing village constantly appears with floating houses lying along the mountainside. You will be surprised at the peaceful beauty of this 7,000-year-old village.
It’s time to learn more about the local fishers, their daily life, and the cultural values shared by our experienced guides. The cruise moves further into the core of bay where you can’t help but be amazed by the gift of Mother Nature: a large bay area, the phenomenal emerald water embracing hundreds of rocky islands of various sizes and shapes.
09:30 – After weaving through hundreds of large and small rocky islands, the cruise will stop at a floating house. Next, you will row your kayak across the cave Tai Kéo to see the vivid scenery of the underwater world. If the tide is too high (the water level rises up to cave entrance), for your safety, kayaking outside of the cave only.
10:45 – After enjoying the kayaking activity, our Captain and Tour Guide will choose the best stop for the group to experience a special swimming activity in the middle of the sea.
11:45 – Savor a delicious lunch in the first-floor dining area of the cruise. After lunch, the cruise sails to Viet Hai Port. Disembark and head to the pier, where electric cars will transport you to the ancient Viet Hai Village. Along the way, our local guide will choose an old path once used by the villagers, allowing you to experience a part of the pristine beauty of Cat Ba National Park, ancient forests, and wartime tunnels built by the local people to connect the village to the bay. Discover the history behind this vital route with our knowledgeable guides during your visit. Experience a unique fish massage, stroll through well-preserved traditional houses, or engage in conversations with local residents for a truly memorable experience.
Please note: Due to the limited size and space of Viet Hai Village, during peak travel times, you may need to wait a little longer before having the opportunity to explore the village. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
14:00 – The boat begins its journey back to Beo Pier. These precious moments provide an opportunity for the crew and Cat Ba Express guides to express their gratitude to the guests and listen to their feedback and suggestions. This helps us continuously improve our service, ensuring it remains a top-tier travel product for day trips exploring the bay in Cat Ba.
15:15 – The cruise returns to Beo Pier, where transportation awaits to take guests back to their hotels in central Cat Ba town where the trip ends.
