CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK – 2D1N

Cat Tien National Park is one of the hidden gems in Vietnam. The area comprises an amazingly bio diverse area of lowland tropical rainforest. Discover Cat Tien National Park by trekking through prime rain forest to Crocodile Lake or enjoy a exciting night, game drive.

Day 1:

Ho Chi Minh City – Cat Tien National Park

After breakfast and check out (you can of course leave luggage behind at the hotel), at 8am, your tour guide and private car will pick you up at your hotel to start your trip to Nam Cat Tien National Park, a former volcanic crater, known as lava tubes before we cross the Dong Nai River to enter Cat Tien National Park.

We’ll arrive at the park around 12 to have lunch at a local restaurant and check in. In the afternoon we make a trek into the rain forest to see some impressive trees like, discovery: Lagerstroemia Ovalfolia (Bang Lang), Tetrameles nudiflora (Tung), Cycas rumphii (Thien Tue), Ancistrolandus Tectorius (Trung quan). Then we transfer back to the center for dinner. At night around 7.00 PM our Jeep will transfer us to Ta Lai for a night drive to spot some animals at night.

Day 2:

Cat Tien National Park – Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, we depart to Bau Sau (Crocodile lake) by Jeep (10km) and walking 5km to Crocodile lake station to see the Crocodiles swamp. Enjoy here and go back the park center. Have lunch and check out, take ferry crossing the river then heading back to Ho Chi Minh City where we finish the tour around 17:00.

Useful information

Especially for the north and central Vietnam;

In the period between November and April, the weather is variable, from sunny to cold and rainy. It is advisable during this period to bring some rain gear with some warmer clothes. In the period from April to November, it is good to pack a hat with a wide brim, sunscreen (at least SPF15) and a reliable insect repellent. A thin rain poncho is useful all year round.

What do I need to know? 

During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a
towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect
repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries. Warm clothing for the cooler
months of November to March are advised. How much luggage can I take? Your
vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15kgs in
a backpack or soft over-night bag and include a small day pack to hand carry for
easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc. Inhibitions can be left in the
luggage storage rooms at your hotel with your other unwanted baggage.
