Vietnam Day Tours in 2024
Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest island with a total length of about 48km. The island is located south of the Mekong Delta at the border with Cambodia and is an hour’s flight from Ho Chi Minh City. When I first visited the island in 2006 the island had a somewhat sleepy character but it has undergone major development in recent years in particular turning the island into a popular beach destination with still beautiful beaches and a great place to stay. Enjoy fantastic seafood, for example at the Cho Dem Phu Quoc, the night market in Duong Dong. In addition to the large number of resorts on the west coast at Long Beach, the island also offers fun activities for day trips. A nice way is to do this by motorbike where you see the island, as it were, seen from the centrally located town of Duong Dong, divided into north and south.
A nice day trip, for example, is to drive via the less busy coastal road to Sao Beach, located on the west coast of Phu Quoc and then visit Phu Quoc prison and the fishing village An Thoi.
For the north it is a nice trip to drive to Bai Thom Beach from where you can see Cambodia. The route goes straight through the rainforest and is very beautiful! From there it is a bit back to then go to Rach Vem, a very beautiful and authentic floating fishing village. Last stop on the route is the fishing village Ganh Dau and then drive back to our accommodation.
In short, Phu Quoc has a lot to offer and is an ideal destination to end your holiday in Vietnam.
