Luggage
If you start the trip from Hanoi and return to the same hotel in Hanoi after your Ha Giang trip it is best to travel a bit lighter, for instance with a sizeable daypack that can hold things for a couple of days. The motorbike (or car) trip is a loop so the start and end point is the same. Normally luggage goes on the back of the bike so you can imagine that big suitcases will not fit.
If you need to bring your luggage or if your trip includes both Sapa & Ha Gang (or coming from Sapa) it means your luggage is with you but for the loop part it is better, if let’s say you have a larger suitcase, to pack a sizeable daypack that can hold things for a couple of days during the loop. Your bigger suitcase or remaining luggage can be stored safely before starting the loop. After the loop you’ll return to this point in Ha Giang to collect it and bring it back to Hanoi.
=====
This Adventure Motorbike Tour, well-known as the Ha Giang Loop, starts in Ha Giang and leads towards Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark with the famous Ma Pi Leng Pass, which is the most stunning mountain pass of the country. At an altitude of around 1500 meters local ethnic people, mainly Zao, Hmong, Tay and LoLo built it. This area is simply mind blowing beautiful.
The area is the most northern province of Vietnam and borders China. The capital city is located along the Lô River. Ha Giang is still less travelled and somewhat unknown for the general public but it is for sure one of the most beautiful places in Vietnam. A hidden gem worth visiting!
The province holds the most spectacular landscapes, which are dotted with forested limestone peaks and rough granite mountains. Mainly ethnic people live in this area, like Zao, Hmong, Tay and LoLo. For a lot of travellers the most spectacular part of their Vietnam trip so join us on one of our special designed trips by motorbike or car.
Starting with hills, valleys and villages with the ethnic minorities residents (Hmong, Tay, Dao, Nung, Lo Lo, Giay, Pu Peo). The farthest and the most beautiful place of Ha Giang province is Dong Van Karst Global Geo-park, designated by UNESCO as one of 77 sites with the important geological and cultural heritage. This Geo-park is littered with the ethereal karst formations that are nearly 400 million years old, and has two protected areas. Dong Van Karst Geo-park is home of 17 ethnic minority groups.

Useful information
Especially for the north and central Vietnam;
In the period between November and April, the weather is variable, from sunny to cold and rainy. It is advisable during this period to bring some rain gear with some warmer clothes. In the period from April to November, it is good to pack a hat with a wide brim, sunscreen (at least SPF15) and a reliable insect repellent. A thin rain poncho is useful all year round.
The south of Vietnam is generally a lot warmer all year round, so warm clothing is not really necessary.
Get Up And Go Vietnam does everything to make your trip an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, we have no control over weather conditions. Our apologies for that!
What do I need to know?
During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries.
