Take a wonderful 2-hour boat ride in Trang An Eco System. Visit Thai Vi Temple and the beautifully located Bich Dong Pagoda, hidden in a mountainside. Enjoy off the beaten track cycling with your local knowledgable guide through this stunning area. Climb Hang Mua for breathtaking views of the Tam Coc River and the valley. Visit less touristy Van Long Nature Reserve by local boat. Explore the oldest National Park in Vietnam, Cuc Phuong.
Day 1:
Hanoi – Trang An – Bich Dong – Thai Vi – Hang Mua – Tam Coc
07:30 Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Hanoi to drive you to the meeting point. Your guide will welcome you there and after a brief instruction we take the bikes to towards the area of Trang An Eco System. The area is also called Ha Long Bay on land and is considered as the best second stunning karst limestone mountain panorama after Ha Long bay in Quang Ninh province. We take a leisurely boat ride for around 2 hours through this stunning area before we continue by bike along the river to our next stop, Bich Dong Pagoda.
Bich Dong means Peal Cave and if you’re lucky on the way we can see a group of monkeys hanging on the green limestone mountains around here or mountain goats playing in the fields. A visit to Bich Dong Pagoda makes you feel free and relax as Buddhism spiritual was founded here hundred years ago.
12.30 Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch we continuing biking through the countryside and arrive at Thai Vi Temple, located in a big valley of Van Lam hamlet, Ninh Hai Commune. The temple was built to worship 4 kings of the Tran Dynasty and Queen Thuan Thien. It’s hidden in a limestone mountain in the middle of the river, with its unique architecture, entirely out of stone.
We continue our trip towards Hang Mua (Mua Cave Mountain), visit the secret hospital that Vietnamese used in the days of thunder (Vietnam War) inside the cave before we challenge ourselves with 500 steps to the top of the mountain. The reward is there with breathtaking views of the valley and River below.
This place is also called the “Rooftop of Ninh Binh”.
16:30 we finish the trip at your accommodation, beautifully located karst mountain view with swimming pool, where the further day and evening will be at your own interpretation.
Day 2:
Tam Coc – Van Long Nature Reserve – Cuc Phuong National Park – Hanoi
08:00 After breakfast (and check-out – you can leave luggage behind) we start our motorbike tour with a 1-hour drive to Van Long NR where we take a leisurely 1-hour boat trip.
10:00 We head on and take country side roads towards Cuc Phuong National Park. There are plenty opportunities for photo stops.
11:00 Arrive at Cuc Phuong National Park where we will have an early lunch before trekking to the 1000-year-old tree.
14:00 We return to the gate of the National Park to visit the endangered primate rescue center for about 30 minutes.
16:00 We finish our trip and bring you to the accommodation to pick-up your luggage. Your driver (car) will then drive you back to your hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi. Estimated arrival time in Hanoi at 6.30pm.

Useful information
Especially for the north and central Vietnam;
In the period between November and April, the weather is variable, from sunny to cold and rainy. It is advisable during this period to bring some rain gear with some warmer clothes. In the period from April to November, it is good to pack a hat with a wide brim, sunscreen (at least SPF15) and a reliable insect repellent. A thin rain poncho is useful all year round.
The south of Vietnam is generally a lot warmer all year round, so warm clothing is not really necessary.

What do I need to know?
During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries. Warm clothing for the cooler months of November to March is advised. How much luggage can I take? Your vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15kgs in a backpack or soft over-night bag and include a small day pack to hand carry for easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc. Inhibitions can be left in the luggage storage rooms at your hotel with your other unwanted baggage.
