The valley in which Mai Chai sits is dotted with many Thai villages in between a patchwork of rice fields. It is a different world full of tranquility and breathtaking nature, perfect for cycling and hiking.
Hanoi – Mai Chau Biking (L-D)
07:30 – 08:00 Pickup at your hotel or hostel in the Old Quarter in our comfortable van

11:30 – 12:00 Scenic photo stop of Mai Chau valley/arrive in Mai Chau, welcome drink.
12:15 Traditional lunch in local village (vegetarian available)
14:30 – 17:00 Bicycle ride with your tour guide, see farmers working in fields, locals weaving scarves and visit surrounding peaceful villages.
17:00 – 19:00 Free time for cycling, walking, shopping
19:00 Enjoy dinner.
20:00 Watch a Thai’s traditional dance and drink the traditional wine “ruou can” Overnight in the communal stilt house or Valley View Bungalow.
Mai Chau Hiking – Hanoi (B-L)
07:30 – 08:30 Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the homestay
08:30 – 12:00 Your local Thai tour guide will take you on a hike to visit some traditional villages in the area, like Na Meo, Na Mo and Xam Pa to understand more about their culture and customs
12:00 – 13:00 We return to the homestay for lunch, check out and some time to relax
15:30 We say goodbye to our host family and take the bus to drive back to Hanoi
19:00 Arrive in Hanoi Old Quarter where we drop you off at your hotel or hostel

Please let us know if you have specific eating restrictions, allergic for certain things or if you are vegetarian, we can take that into account during the trips.
Especially for the north and central Vietnam;
In the period between November and April, the weather is variable, from sunny to cold and rainy. It is advisable during this period to bring some rain gear with some warmer clothes. In the period from April to November, it is good to pack a hat with a wide brim, sunscreen (at least SPF15) and a reliable insect repellent. A thin rain poncho is useful all year round.

What do I need to know?
During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a
towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect
repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries. Warm clothing for the cooler
months of November to March are advised. How much luggage can I take? Your
vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15kgs in
a backpack or soft over-night bag and include a small day pack to hand carry for
easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc. Inhibitions can be left in the
luggage storage rooms at your hotel with your other unwanted baggage.
