Day 1 : Ba Be National Park (Lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be National Park

Your tour guide will pick you up at around 6.45-7am from your hotel in the old quarter in Hanoi for this unforgettable journey to Ba Be National Park.

At around noontime we’ll arrive in Cho Ra town, close to Ba Be National park, where we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we will bring you to Buoc Lom Wharf to embark the boat for a trip along the Nang River towards Ba Be Lake, one of 20 biggest fresh lakes on the mountain in the world.

On our way we will stop at Puong Cave, which is famous for it’s thousands of bats, before we arrive at Ba Be Lake (three lakes). We visit An Ma Temple to learn more about the religions and beliefs in Vietnam.

Late afternoon we will take you on a bamboo raft trip to enjoy a refreshing swim in the fresh water near the Ba Goa Islet before we take a short hike to our homestay (1km) in Pac Ngoi village, a small village of Tay people to check in and to enjoy some truly breathtaking views.

Dinner will be served around 7pm and optional you can attend a traditional Tay musical performance with other guests.

Day 2 : Ban Gioc Waterfall (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 2: Ba Be – Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall (300km) 

After breakfast at the homestay, you will depart for Cao Bằng, one of Vietnam’s most northern provinces that border China.

We’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Quang Uyen town.

After lunch we’ll make our way towards Ban Gioc Waterfall, the stunning falls that span across the border between Vietnam and China. You will spend some time at your own leisure, relaxing and taking photos as you soak up the incredible surroundings of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall.

We continue our way to visit Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger cave) before returning to Cao Bang city for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Cao Bang - Meo Vac (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 3: Cao Bang – Bao Lac – Meo Vac

After breakfast, at around 8am, we will pick you up for the bus ride to Bao Lac. You’ll arrive around 12pm in Bao Lac to enjoy a local lunch before we start your motorbike trip towards Meo Vac. Enjoy the first part of your trip and of course we’ll make some nice scenic stops along the way. We arrive around 5pm to check into the hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 4 : Meo Vac - Dong Van (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 4: Meo Vac – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Lung Cu – Dong Van

After breakfast we’ll make our way to the most thrilling ride of your life! The Mã Pí Lèng Pass is a mountain pass in Vietnam at an altitude of 1.500m. The road was first built by minority Zao, Hmong, Tay and “Lolo people. It is a stunning road but also known as dangerous and almost 20 kilometers in length.

We drive on to an important area between China and Vietnam, Lung Cu flag tower, we actually will enter into China to give you a perfect view of the importance of this area for both countries.

We’ll do some short trekking to meet local people in the area before we make our way to Dong Van to check into the guesthouse

Day 5 : Dong Van (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Today you’ll have a free day in a beautiful part of Vietnam! Time to recharge your battery and soak up the local atmosphere. Of course we have great options to do a trekking in the area.

Day 6 : Dong Van - Ha Giang (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 6: Dong Van – Vuong Palace – Yen Minh – Quan Ba – Ha Giang

After breakfast we continue your adventure through this stunning part of Vietnam towards Ha Giang.

The first stop along the way is Vuong Palace, a grandiose two-stories mansion built by the French for a local Hmong King. It sits in a hidden valley in the small village of Sa Phin. We ride on to show you the best scenic places on the way and we'll stop at several places to show you the best the area has to offer.

Among those, Yen Minh, Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate, The Twin Mountains in Quan Ba before we reach Ha Giang at around 5pm to check into the hotel.

Day 7 : Ha Giang - Sapa (Breakfast)

After breakfast our tour guide will take you to the bus station to get you on the bus to Sapa at 8am. You’ll be arriving in Sapa around 3pm where the trip ends. For sure this was a trip you’ll treasure for the rest of your life!

Day 8 : Sapa - Trekking (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 8: Sapa – Trekking

At around 8.30-9am your local private Hmong tour guide will meet you at your hotel where your trekking adventure will kick off.

On your request, she can offer you to have your luggage transported to the homestay in Ta Van. We'll start our trekking with a visit at the market to buy food and fruit for lunch, on the way, before we’ll start this fantastic trek to Ta Van, down in the Muong Hoa valley. 

During the 15 km walk we’ll visit three villages of ethnic populations. Enjoy the spectacular views of the beautiful valley that leads towards Fansipan, the highest peak in Viet Nam and Indochina. The trek leads through the village of Black Hmong people, where you can learn how they weave and embroider their incredible clothes. Further along our descent we’ll enjoy the many colorful rice paddy fields until we reach Ta Van village, inhabited by the Dzay people.

We’ll have a filling lunch on the way and dinner with your host in a beautiful traditional Hmong house in Ta Van and you’ll overnight in a traditional Hmong house, by far the best most cozy accommodation in Ta Van!

Day 9 : Sapa - Trekking - Hanoi (Breakfast and lunch)

Itinerary Details Day 9: Ta Van - Sapa – Hanoi

After a traditional breakfast we leave Ta Van and continue our trek to visit the Red Dao people towards Giang Ta Chai village. We pass some stunning scenery and a lovely waterfall along our route. As their name suggests, red is used extensively in the Red Dao women’s clothing and scarves.

Our journey leads us along the small paths edging the rice fields, across the Muong Hoa River and lunch will be on the way at a fantastic spot. We’ll head back to Ta Van after our second amazing trekking in the early afternoon where you can enjoy a refreshing shower and some free time before heading back to Sapa. 

Around 2.30pm we say goodbye to you and you will go by private transportation back to Sapa. From here your comfortable AC bus will bring you back to Hanoi. Expected arrival time is 9.30pm and you will be dropped of at your hotel.

The further evening will be at your own interpretation.

Day 10 : Halong Bay - Lan Ha Bay (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 10: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay – Private Island 

7.30 Bus leaves from Hanoi to Haiphong.

10.30 We board the hydrofoil (speedboat) to the west side of Halong Bay.

11.00 You’ll get on board for a spectacular cruise deep inside Halong Bay while lunch is served for you.

14.00 Experience 1-hour sea kayaking as we paddle through many placid lagoons and hidden caves. The lagoon and its vicinity are the perfect destination for swimming & kayaking due to the calmer water and magnificent scenery. After that, you’ll have an amazing boat jump & swimming for extra 45 minutes. Then we continue our voyage as our boat cruises through Lan Ha Bay for some more great sightseeing towards our private island.

17.30 Arrive on our stunning and secluded private island. Check in to the hostel and enjoy some time to relax on the beach or explore the islands surroundings.

19.00 Enjoy a 4-course seafood BBQ dinner.

21.00 Enjoy the evening and have a great time on the beach….

00.00 Enjoy the New Day Bonfire on the beach (if weather permits)

Day 11 : Halong Bay - Hanoi (Breakfast and lunch)

8.30 Buffet breakfast is served from around 7-9am…

10.00 You’ll have some time to climb to the top of the hill for panoramic views of the surrounding Lan Ha Bay or just swim and relax on the    beach.

11.30 Buffet lunch is served before we leave the island for Cat Ba town from where we take the bus to cross Cat Ba National Park to the harbor          then the back to Hai Phong by speedboat.

17.00 Trip ends in Hanoi

What do I need to bring?

What do I need to know?

During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries. Warm clothing for the cooler months of November to March is advised.

Luggage?

For the full trip it is best to bring it, we will take care of it. For those who want to join us for a part of the trip it might be more convenient to leave it safely at your hostel or hotel in Hanoi if you return there We will of course assist you with it.
