Your tour guide for today will warmly welcome you for this impressive historical adventure! We start this trip  in between 7.30-8.30am. See your voucher for more more detailed information about pick-up and departure time.

Located 60km from Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists alike. The 200km network of tunnels became legendary because of their vital role in the war. In their heyday, the tunnels were fully functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens.

The tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were of great importance to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces, and helped to counter the growing American military effort.

Today, ducks and water buffaloes happily co-exist by the rivers along the side of the road, the peaceful rice paddy scenery masking the areas violent history. Visitors find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation throughout this whole area, caused by bombing and mines.

There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960’s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone".

We start our tour in the morning and before entering the tunnels visitors can watch a short introductory video, showing how the tunnels were constructed. You’ll spend the next hour exploring the tunnels before having a refreshing tea and cassava, which was eaten by the guerrillas during the war.

We’ll then return to Ho Chi Minh City. Tour ends.
