Day 1 : Ba Be Lake National Park (Lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake (230km) (bamboo rafting)

Your tour guide will pick you up at around 6.45-7am from your hotel in the old quarter in Hanoi for this unforgettable journey to Ba Be National Park.

12am: Lunch in a local restaurant in Cho Ra town

2.30pm: Arrival at Buoc Lom Wharf, embark the boat for a trip along the Nang River to Ba Be Lake, one of 20 biggest fresh lakes on the mountain in the world.

3pm: Stop at Puong cave, which is famous for it’s thousands of bats.

4pm: Arrive at Ba Be Lake (three lakes). We visit the An Ma Temple to learn more about the religions and beliefs in Vietnam.

5pm: We then enjoy bamboo rafting and a swim in the fresh water near the Ba Goa Islet.

6pm: We hike to our homestay (1km) in Pac Ngoi village, a small village of Tay people to check in to enjoy some truly breathtaking views.

7pm: Dinner is served and a traditional Tay musical performance can be attended (excluded). You can share the show with other tourists.

9pm: We overnight in a Tay traditional house-on-stilt.

Day 2 : Ban Gioc Waterfalls (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Itinerary Details Day 2: Ba Be – Ban Gioc Waterfall - Cao Bang (300km)

After breakfast at the homestay, we will depart at 7am for Cao Bang, one of Vietnam’s most northern provinces that borders China.

12.30pm: Lunch in a local restaurant in Quang Uyen town.

2pm: We arrive at Ban Gioc Waterfall, the stunning falls that span across the border between Vietnam and China. You will spend some time at your own leisure, relaxing and taking photos as you soak up the incredible surroundings of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall.

3pm: Visit to Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger cave).

4pm: Return to Cao Bang city. Overnight at the hotel

Day 3 : Cao Bang - Hanoi (Breakfast and lunch)

Itinerary Details Day 3: Cao Bang – Pac Bo – Hanoi (400km) 

7am: After breakfast we checkout to visit Pac Bo Cave*. It was here where President Ho Chi Minh came back to Vietnam after living 30 years abroad. Visit to Pac Bo Cave, Lenin River, Karl Marx Mountain and the stone table.

12am: Lunch will be served at the local restaurant

7pm: We arrive back in Hanoi and drop you off at your hotel or stay in the old quarter of Hanoi.

* The itinerary can be changed due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions.

What do I need to know?

During the period March to November it will good to pack your swimming gear, a towel, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen (at least SPF15), a reliable insect repellent, toiletries, a camera and lots of batteries. Warm clothing for the cooler months of November to March is advised. How much luggage can I take? Your vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15kgs in a backpack or soft over-night bag and include a small day pack to hand carry for easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc. Inhibitions can be left in the luggage storage rooms at your hotel with your other unwanted baggage.
